PHP Logo This site is is hosted by TDMWeb on an Apache Web Server using PHP 5 running on Linux. It is tested on Apache 2 and PHP 5 running on Windows Vista Home Premium.

CSS logo Pages are coded in XHTML 1.0 Transitional and extensive used has been made of Cascading Style Sheets.

JavaScript is used on some pages but all the site works (with some slight reduction in functionality) if JavaScript is disabled.

Compatible Browsers

Because DelphiDabbler.com makes heavy use of Cascading Style Sheets it requires relatively modern and standards compliant browsers to display properly.

The main development browser is the excellent, and quite standards compliant, Mozilla Firefox 3.5.

The site is also regularly tested using

  • Opera 10
  • Internet Explorer 8
  • Google Chrome
  • Apple Safari 4 for Windows

Pages are designed to be viewed on a screen capable of a minimum resolution of 800 × 600 pixels.

Problem Browsers

Some older browsers may have problems with the site. Known problem browsers are:

  • Netscape 4.7 – a complete disaster area. This browser's incomplete and buggy implementation of CSS means the site looks awful. Since very few, if any, visitors are still using this browser I've given up supporting it.
  • Internet Explorer 5.5 – has some display problems due to its broken margin / padding model. If you are still using this browser you are strongly advised to upgrade for security and compatibility reasons. I've given up trying to code round IE5's numerous quirks.
  • Opera 7 – has some minor layout issues, mainly with the articles pages. Since the problem is minor I do not provide workarounds.
